What are you doing?
The question twitter users are answering all over the world.
By Marissa Hughes
Twitter, a free social networking and micro blogging service is quickly become popular among more than the typical audience of facebook users of the ages of 18-25.
Twitter is not only for personal use but commercial use as well. Companies such as Whole Foods, Urban Outfitters and even other small businesses are able to be followed (a term twitter used when your friends).
“I have only been on twitter for a year, but I have followed my favorite brands and I have actually got free clothes and coupons to use at the store,” said Annie Fielder, a twitter user and a Florida State Student.
Twitter is accessible through your cell phone and can be updated to answer the question "what are you doing?," as many times a day as it's users would like.
Following newspapers like the New York Times gives users the news as it trickles in, “ …sometimes I check my phone and see that the breaking new that I see on my phone hasn’t even hit CNN or other networks yet,” said Jim Brunette, a Tallahassee business man.
With Twitter being the thrid largest social network site, right behind Myspace and Facebook, there are roughly 6 million users.
"I have all 3 (Facebook, Myspace and Twitter), I can surely say they are all similar, but in the same respect completely different. Each one has it's perks and downfalls," said Fielder.
